Ruptured Disc, High BP Post Taking An Epidural. Cause?

I have a ruptured disk , L4-5. Before the bak injury, I was running 9 miles a week. My blood pressure while running and lifting was 130/76 54 pulse . Since my ruptured disk, I haven t been active, I haven t even been out of the bed until a week ago, when I got an epidural . My blood pressure has gone through the roof, 180/117. Can an epidural, mixed with the constant pain cause my blood pressure to be high?

Hi,
The epidural will not cause your high blood pressure. Intense pain can cause high blood pressure but this is not the only cause. You may have, coincidentally, developed hypertension so you should visit your doctor who may advise you to monitor it for a bit longer before starting treatment of the doctor may start you on treatment straight away.
