Safe To Take Biotin For Thinning Hair While Taking Metoprolol And Diltiazem?
I am a heart patient with controlled high blood pressure. I take metoprolol and diltiazem and clopidrogel everyday. I have very thin hair after 4 plus years of this medicine. Before my stroke and heart attack I was taking 5000 of biotin and some zinc. I would like to know if it s safe for me to take biotin again. It was prescribed by myskin doctor before.
I can understand your concern for thinning hair. thinning hair can be due to any long term illness or any emotional or stressful event and due to nutritional deficiency or hormonal influence.
After illness or stress and nutritional dysfunction it is quite common to get hair fall and thinning because of change of nutritional and hormonal status.
If I were your dermatologist then would have prescribed you tablet containing Acetylcysteine, Calcium Pantothenate, Selenium, Zinc, Biotin, Copper as active ingredients. You can take these vitamins in the form of biotin, calicium pantothenate and other vitamin B complexes.
