Hi Truptee,
Welcome and thanks for posting your query to HCM.
It seems from your query that you have "Seborrhoea capitis" which is a condition of excessive flaking and itching over scalp skin may or may not be accompanied with redness.
Now its quite common to find this situation reason being our skin is harvested by a fungus known as Malasezzia which causes more of flakiness. It is added by the fact that our skin is renewed every day but some persons do have tendency for fast renewal of skin on scalp especially in young people post 20 years.
For the remedy part :
1. the very first thing to be understood by you is that it is not a disease per say but is a normal physiological process
2. wash your scalp with shampoos containing the antiyeast agents such as ketoconazole or zinc
pyrithione. initially do it regularly and then slowly taper it off to once a week, but don't stop it abruptly.
3. Do not oil your scalp for longer period of time. Either don't do it or do it just 1 hour before head wash.
4. Comb your hair 2-3 times a day especially at bed time.
5. If you are not getting any success then there are certain steroids and Salicylic acid-containing preparations which can be used in dermatological guidance.
Hope this information will help you
