Scaphoid Fracture, Swelling. Had The Cast Off. Will It Heal?

Hi i got surgery for my scaphoid fracture and already got the cast off. I got a Cat scan and the doctor said it look perfectly fine and the bone had healed. i started working out lightly and began to go up in weight. Recently since I started working out my wrist has started to swell again.. is this normal? my range of motion is alright but still the area is very stiff.. how long does it take for the wrist to heal till I can start exercising normally?

Hello,
You have not mentioned how old is the scaphoid fracture and for how long your hand was in a cast. Scaphiod fracture is unique in itself because it goes undetected and because of its blood supply, the healing take time.
The only thing I would be afraid of is that you have not given enough time for your scaphoid to recover before starting work outs.
Please do exercises under supervision of a physiotherapist or orthopedic surgeon.

Hope this helps.
