Scheduled For Face Lift Surgery. Suggested Stopping Drinking Alcohol For 2 Weeks, Not Done. Postpone Surgery?

I am having facelift surgery on oct 28th. I stopped drinking alcohol last friday so that would only be 9 days prior to surgery. I was instructed very strongly to quit 2 weeks prior to surgery because alcohol thins out the blood. I am wondering if there is anything i can do to thicken the blood or if i should just ask the surgeon if he wants to oostpone surgery?
