Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am in Thailand. A stray dog rebuked at me as if to bite though he didn't actually bite. however as I removed my hand I hit his upper teeth. this did not pierce, mark or make any abrasions on my skin.
I washed the hand in the sea and there is no sign whatsoever of where my skin was touched.
The skin of my hand is intact.
The dog is a stray that wonders around people around this area all the time but I have no checkable history. It is a stray.
Should I worry and go and see a doctor even if there is no mark or any sign on the skin?
Hi Rossella Your dog bite comes under category I (Touching or feeding of animals Licks on intact skin). Usually require no intervention, if reliable case history is available. If the bite starts to itch or the skin around it starts to swell rapidly, see a doctor immediately. If you are too much concern because dog was a stray then visit the doctor to show you affected area Hope this answers your query.
