Madam,
You delivered a baby last month. After 5 days of delivery you got seizure for which you are under treatment. You were prescribed Epsolin, valprolol and Levipil. You had stopped feeding your baby after starting the tab. Epsolin (Phnytoin Sodium) dose was reduced and you were allowed breast feeding. It is OK regarding epsolin.
Points for your consideration regarding other seizure drug:
Certain medicines can pass into breast milk and may reach your baby through breastfeeding.
In the case of Sodium Valproate:
You should only take this medicine while breastfeeding if your doctor thinks you need it
Before you have your baby you should discuss breastfeeding with your doctor. They will help you decide what is best for you and your baby based on the benefits and risks associated with this medicine. You should only breast-feed your baby while taking this medicine on the advice of your doctor.
This for your information. i wish you to get alright very soon.
Best wishes

General & Family Physician Dr. Pavan Kumar Gupta's  Response
Hello,
It is strongly felt by neurologists and epileptologists that the benefits of breastfeeding largely outweigh the risks of exposing the baby to antiepileptic medications, including levetiracetam
Valproate concentrations in breast fed  babies is low.
Breast feeding is acceptable with epsolin.
As a matter of fact, the American Academy of Neurology and the American Epilepsy Society both recommend breastfeeding in women with epilepsy.
I hope it helps.
Thanks
