Severe Anxiety, Fatigue, Depression After Increasing Dosage Of Delaudid For Severe Back Pain. Suggest Ways To Quit Medication
My son (39 yrs. old) has been on Dilaudid for almost a year thru a pain mgt MD for severe back pain,he is now having to double his dosage just to function.He is having many side effects including depression,anxiety,agitation,and fatigue.He wants to quit taking it and needs info about how to do this safely.

its opiod drugs chance of anxiety and depression more kindly stop the narcotic drugs if pain there u can take tab XXXX 50mg twice daily

The dilaudid, is the hydromorphone have short length of action, due to short length of action, the withdrawal will be short, but intense.
So it is difficult to manage, so it is better to have the with drawal process under the supervision of the psychologist in the hospital.
I advise you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for diagnosis and treatment.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms neurotropic injections for 10 consecutive days,and nonsteroidal anti inflamatory drugs, and never narcotic pain killers.
