Severe Anxiety, Loose Stools And Vomiting. Need Medical Attention?
Hi. My anxiety has been very severe and I have been pooping liquid and throwing up. I have had the stomach issues for about a week due to my anxiety. I went to my primary doctor and he told me it was from my anxiety. He wouldnt prescribe any medication for me because he has little knowledge on anxiety. Should I go to a hospital or er?
Anxiety is a non specific fear and it may present with a lot of symptoms like restlessness, fear, light headedness, tremors, fear of impending doom, sweating, dizziness, chocking sensation in throat etc. It may cause irritable bowel syndrome like picture like diarrhea, feeling of nausea. Though you have not mentioned your details of symptoms but as your family physician have opined that it may be anxiety so I would advise you to visit a Psychiatrist. Medicines like Setaline, Paroxetine etc are used in anxiety. Non medicinal treatment like Relaxation exercises, behavior therapy is also very useful.
Hope it helps you, Thanks Dr. Seikhoo Bishnoi, MD
