Hi Dr ,
I am "blessed" with a severe case of RLS. Over the years I have tried different medication to attenuate the symptoms of this desease and Mirapex, at a daily dosage of about 4 to 5 mg. taken twice a day gave me some relief. But, as I get older, he inconfort associated with the RSL tend to extend itself over a longer period of time in the same period of 24 hours.
My neurologist wants to prescribe Neupro to replace Mirapex but everything I read on the side effects of Neupro makes me hesitate big time. I have gained a bout 20-25 pounds since the dosage I take of Mirapex went over the 3mg daily dosage. By the way, I've just turned 64 but still am in great shape even though I also have a sleeping disorder ( I sleep about 3 hours per night on and off) and since I can't sleep, I have developped a great relationship with our Fridg, who keeps me company while I binge what ever he offers me.
I know you can't do miracles, so what do you recommend? Should I change Mirapex for Neupro?
Thank you for your time!
