Severe Headache, Minor Dizziness, Trip Scheduled. Sinus Medicines Will Be Help?

I am flying tomorrow and have just came down with one of the worst headaches I have experienced. Male, 56, relatively healthy, returning from a 3 month backpacking tour of SE Asia. Will be flying for approx 22 hours. Minor dizzyness. It has been extremely hot in Bangkok and was written off to this. Should I take a few sinus medications before the trip?

Dear friend, welcome and thanks for entrusting your query here at HCM!
I am Dr. Prasad Akole (Critical Care Expert- http://bit.ly/Dr-Prasad-Akole) and am glad to address to your query here.

I am a bit cautious here if you say “the worst headache of life”, since in our field, it points to a rupturing brain aneurysm (blood vessel ballooning).
But do not be afraid immediately. It could well be a sinus headache.
Do you have any nausea, vomiting, neck pain, giddiness, tingling numbness in limbs?
Is there any pain over the sinuses? Cough-cold?
Any other symptom?

I would advise you to get evaluated before you go on to fly, just to be sure that anything serious is not missing.
Check BP, sinuses for tenderness, neck stiffness, neurology.

I hope to have answered your query satisfactorily. I would be glad to answer any further queries. Please ask for any clarifications before closing and rating this answer.
Take care and please keep me informed of your progress at http://bit.ly/Dr-Prasad-Akole
Good Luck! Thank you!!
