Severe Headaches. CT Scan Report Normal. Stiff Neck, Soreness In The Neck. What Else Could Cause These?

I have had moderate to sever headaches for several months, nearly every day. I usually wake up with them. Have had CT scans which show no bleeding, or tumours. My neck is very stiff, (as are all my other joints), and the front of my neck is sore to touch. When I yawn or cough the front of my neck hurts (but not like a sore throat ). The soreness is just slightly to the left of centre.

Hello,
Thanks for posting this question in this web site
In the absence of a clinical examination, from the data that is posted, the other strong possibilty for such headache could be meningitis (Infection of the brain). A plain CT scan can be normal in this condition and either a MRI scan or contrast enhanced CT scan will give us a better picture. The most important test that can clinich the diagnosis of meningitis is CSF study. In this study, doctoral will draw some fluid from the spine and will subject to various tests which will either rule in or out the possibility of infection.
I donot know if you are a female and also your age.
The other systemic disease which generally females of 20-40 can have (this is because you have stiffness of multiple joints too) systemic colagen vascular disease. This can be picked up by vaerious blood tests like ESR, CRP, ANA, Ds DNA etc.
You need medical evaluation
In the current era of moderen medicine, we cannot assume and treat. It has to be evidenced based
Hope, this clarifies
