Severe Heart Burn, Difficulty In Swallowing, Belching After Taking Zoloft. Acid Reflux?

I took my night time med, Zoloft , with water at around midnight last night. Very shortly after, I felt severe heart burn . I felt like the pill didn t go down my throat! I tried more water, drinking milk, eating something and Kaopectate . I finally had a little relief, enough to go to sleep. However, I woke up this morning with some heart burn that is still with me tonight. I ve also been belching some. Is this part of my acid reflux?

hi,yes you are right.you are having GERD gastro esophageal reflux disease.you will need an endoscopy of the foodpipe and stomach to confirm the diagnosis.you will be given drugs to reduce acid production in the stomach and to tighten the sphincter between the foodpipe and stomach.get well soon. dr praveen.
