Severe Labor-like Pain/cramping And Not Pregnant

Hello, For 2 nights I have had severe pain like labor pain in my lower abdomin and lower back/tailbone area. I am 41 and had surgery 2 years ago to remove cysts from my ovaries. I am most likely also having early changes as my period (which I do have right now) has changed and has been lighter/lasts only 3 days these days. I currently feel bloated/swollen and it is not due to constipation but something else and I m not sure what?! The pain/cramping is most severe in te evenings but is present all day long. I currently am without health insurance for the next 3 months and wonder if I should just continue to self treat with ibupropin till I get insurance or is this something life-threatning I should call a doctor for? I also do void more then usual and not sure if this has anything to do with the pain. THANK you in advance for your guidance.

I'm definatly not pregnant and I have my period currently. I'm also adding that it seems to get worse if I eat something and I'm not sure why. Possible gall bladder issue???

Hi, thanks for the query. Severe backache can be due to a number of reasons including Spondylitis, Uterine pathology, etc. This needs to be investigated to have sure shot therapy. Till you go for investigations, please continue with antiinflammatory agents like Combiflam. Local application of liniments like Rumalaya with gentle rubbing will also help.
Take care.
