General & Family Physician, Dr. Vidya KR's Response
Hi, Thanks for using the HCM.
she delivered through caesarian section, and as it was infected, strength of scar will be less, this could have resulted in weak scar ,there are more chances of incisional hernia.
there are surgeries available for correction of incisional hernia, mesh repair, strengthening of muscle.
Better to go for surgery as intraabdominal contents are present in hernia, can go for intestinal obstruction and other complications..
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help. Thanks get well soon....

Severe Lower Abdominal Pain. History Of Infection After Cesarean Delivery
Hi, Thanks for posting your query. Please get an ultrasound scan of the abdomen done for your wife to rule out an incisional hernia. It is one of the possibilities. It can also be a pelvic inflammatory disease, which needs effective antibiotic treatment. I hope she is using an abdominal belt to regain the tone of her muscles. Hope this helps. Regards,
