Hello and welcome to HCM
I am a General Physician and like to help you out. As per your description you are suffering form Cervical Spondylitis. My advise to you is to immediately go the orthopedic doctor and get your X-ray Cervical spine done to rule out other cause of pain and get to a diagnosis. There might be some changes like decreased margin between vertebra, Osteophytes or cervical spondylitis changes. If needed and advised by your doctor get MRI done as your are facing this problem for several years. Till you consult your doctor and get to a proper diagnosis and treatment follow some advises:
1. Avoid jerky movements of neck and spine.
2. Wear cervical collar for at least 8 hours per day.
3. Can do Hot fermentation if it helps.
4. Apply diclofenac gel locally.
5. Use hard bed and no pillow for sleep.
6. if your job is a sitting job than change your neck posture every 1/2 hourly.
7. Use analgesic in pain
Consult your doctor ASAP and follow his advise.
