Severe Pain In Back. On Vicodin, Ibuprofen And Acetaminophen. Anxiety And Jerkiness After Taking Prescribed Tizanidine. Advice Combination Of Drugs
I've been dealing with back pain having an acute pain episode a little over a week ago. I have Vicodin5-500 but have been trying to manage my pain with ibuprofen 800 mg every four hours and sometime in between acetaminophen 1000 mg every four hours. My back doctor recently gave me Tizanidine 2 mg to take for spasms with a caution not to take it with the Vicodin. I took a Tizanidine dose last night and had anxiety and jerkiness that eventually subsided and slept a couple of hours. My pain has been manageable but the effects of taking that much ibuprofen are starting to affect my appetite and tonight I had the same jerkiness when I tried to sleep without the Tizanidine so I'm thinking its the ibuprofen. Can I get advice on what combination of drugs to take/dosages and times.
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare Magic!
You are taking too much of painkiller drugs and that too in a bit higher dose ranges.
Ibuprofen is a well known pain reliever but now we have many safer alternatives. same is true of tizanidine. You are having adverse effect of jitteriness due to these drugs.
treatment come after a diagnosis. Could you get a firm diagnosis yet, if no then please review to a local physician and get investigated for a diagnosis. Some time painkillers may relieve pain and may delay diagnosis of serious ailments.
You can use safer alternatives like topical diclofenac, fentanyl patch, tramadol and acetaminophen combination to name a few.
Each of these medicines should be taken in consultation and supervision of a local physician.
I hope the advise would be informative and useful for you.
Take Care!
