Severe Pain In Back Of Legs While Walking. Worn Out L6 And L7 Disc. Advice
I have severe pain in the back of my legs when I walk for longer than 15 minutes, or engage in stop/start walking or standing for long periods. Brief relief is obtained by sitting down. Previous X-rays have indicated that L6 & L7 discs are worn out. Is the pain related and is there any way this situation can be improved? ps. Two years ago I had 2 x cortisone spinal injections but these gave no significant improvement. Dave
It looks from your details that most probably you are having spinal canal stenosis. In this diseases there is narrowing of hole from where nerve exits from spine. This can be there due to prolapse disc or extra bone(osteophyte). You should have MRI SCAN of back for this.Depending on reports your doctor may be able to give you treatment by medicines or by surgery.
Hope this all will help you.
With best wishes.
