Severe Pain In Middle Of Head, Subsided. BP High, Pulse Less, Low Thyroid. Possible Reason?
A middle head headache during the night fairly extreme and hot head. I put head under cold water and after 5 minutes it began to subside (no sweating - not red face - actually white). BP was about 139 over 91 and pulse only 46 but came up again after the cold water. I have a low thyroid and had eaten a small amount of cruciferous veg plus a baked potato about 9pm. The head happens (it has happened before) about 4 am. Thank you. Pam
Let me tell you that headache can be due to many causes like tension headache, migraine, brain tumor/infection, bleed in the brain and so on.
The possibility in your case could be a tension headache. But, this is a diagnosis of exclusion. I urge you to get evaluated by a local neurologist who will examine you and decided regarding the need of scan in your case. If the scan is normal, you may benefit with rest , relaxation and a short course of medications like amitryptiline/nor-tryptyline etc. Your low heart rate could be raelted to thyroid problem which need to be reassessed.
Hope this helps
Best wishes
