Severe Pain On Breast Bone Down To Groin. Have Hernia. On Cambalta, Ibuprofen. Relief With Tums, Heating Pad
Hi. I have been having severe pain from the top of the breast bone down to my groin, where I have a surgical hernia after my c-section 2years ago . I am on cymbalta for depression, as well as take ibuprofen for pain at least 4 times a week. Take calcium and glucosomine chondrotion for my arthritis in my knee. I also had a bad car accident 20 some years and have a lot of adhesions in my abdomen. My doctor sent me for x-rays and bloodwork but never seen anything . The pains are getting worse and the only thing I can do is take some tums and lay down with a heating pad on my lower abdomen and press on where my hernia is.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The pain in the breast bone till the groin is likely to be due to stretching of the muscles due to hernia. This can be decreased after the surgical correction of the hernia. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal , drtayal72@gmail.com
