General & Family Physician, Dr. Ravi Kant's Response
it may be a case of an etra cervical rib which is causing nerve compression resulting into shoulder pain and may lead thoracic outlet syndrome. its better to consult an orthopedics as soon s possible and to not to apply heat or compression.
