Severely Itchy And Dry Skin After Bathing And Roughness Around Genitals. Is This Serious?
I have been sufferring from itching after bath and makes me scratch my skin very badly. This has been happening with me for over 8 years and I kept thinking there's no way out. The skin itches for 5-15minutes before it subsides after which the skin gets so dry. There's roughness around the gland of my penis also for nearly those 8 years and I don't think it's sexually transmitted because then, I haven't began having sex. It doesn't itch or produce any pus. What do you think the problem is?
Hello, Welcome to healthcare magic, If you get hives after bath it could be aquagenic urticaria, if it is just itching without hives, it could be aquagenic pruritus. Do not take bath in hot water. Use room temperature or luke warm water. Use very less soap. Oiling the body before bath is good and immediately after bath apply a moisturizing lotion all over the body. If your itching is not coming down in a week after following this regime, consult a dermatologist for prescription of oral anti histamines. Hope this helped, Take care.
