Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the past 3 days, I ve just been feeling not normal. Felt really light headed and shakey, sometimes get the shakes. Consistently feeling sick, skin is really sensitive, more so in some places than others. Going to the loo more regularly. Along with the light-head...feel really faint! Any reasons why I feel like this?
Hi.
what is your age? Are you taking any anti hypertensive or other medications?
In case you are not elderly and not on any medications then you do need evaluation.
Any episodes of convulsion?
Work up suggested:
First of all check your blood pressure in lying and standing position.
Check pulse.
Investigations:
1. ECG
2. Haemoglobin %
3. Random blood sugar
In case you had convulsion then get a CT scan brain and an EEG done.
Apart from these eat well and sleep well.
Avoid abrupt change in position: Be slow in standing from lying or sitting poisition. Be slow in turning head.
Reasons of such episodes can be determined only after clinical evaluation. But the most common causes are : hypoglycaemia , anemia , orthostatic hypotension, cardiac event, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.
Also rule out pregnancy if there might be any chances.
