Sharp Knee Pains At Night, Subsides In The Morning. No Relief With Medicines. Remedy?

Night pain in one knee only. No particular injury ( ski accident 60 years ago) but normal since then. Occurs even if I stretch out on the couch before bedtime. And, most bizarre, at 6 am before I get up it goes away. During the day I feel nothing. I can sleep no more than an hour or so at a time. This has gone on for a week. The pain is on the inside of my left knee and is sharp, stabbing , and excruciating. Ibuprofen etc. does nothing for it.

Hello there!
Thank you for asking. I read your query and i want you to know that these age related degenerative arthralgias need care and a good rheumatologist at door step to guide you hamper the progressions. now what makes the pain go away in the morning is some thing better be explained but it needs workup. You need a rheumatologist to help you out and sort out what is it. Remember 75 % people of your age have these complaints and you are not alone in this. Try some precautionary measures, get a physiotherapist, Some topical massage therapies, some acetaminophen, some Hydroxychloroquine for short term and some Rheumo opinion and you will be in safe hands with no thing to worry about.
