Sharp Pain In Foot And Ankle Radiating To Heel, Burning Sensation With Pins And Needles. Will Taking Rest Help?

I have gone over on my foot and it is extremely painful. I can't walk or put any weight on it. It is more from the ankle around to the outside side if the foot. It's like a sharp pain and radiates to the underneath of my foot. I keep feeling a burning sensation and occasional pins and needles. Is it reasonable for me to visit a and e or should I just keep resting it and see what happens?

Hello there!
Thank you for asking. The pains with pin needle sensation indicates its some nerve entrapment of tibial nerve branches.
If you are not diabetic or some other demyelinating neuropathy or had any recent trauma then i am sure rest will help. But if associated morbidities are there i want you to see the GP or neurologist to examine and sort out the etiology for you.

Good Luck
