Sharp Pain In Lower Abdomen Around Ovulating, Bad Cramps During Periods. Had Tubes Clamped. Is This Normal?
Hi I had my tubes clamped 6 years ago and ever since I have experienced really sharp pain in my right hand lower abdomen around the same time that I am ovulating and it happens up until I get my period and has recently got worse as I now get really bad cramps during my period where I can't walk and panadol only works for 2 hours and the pain is back again. Is this normal as it very debilitating.
Hi thanks for your question. Post tubectomy (ligation of tubes) menorrhagia is a known complication and pains and cramps do occur during ovulation. This is due to fact that uterus is denied its normal function. This menorrhagia and cramps can be well managed by antispasmodic and analgesics (pain killer).Consult a gynaecologist who may examine you to rule out any other cause of menorrhagia and may prescribe you analgesic, antispasmodic drugs for relief of pain, cramps and menorrhagia due to ligation. Hope this answers your question.
