Sharp Pain On Top Of Leg, Severe While Walking More. No Other Symptoms. Cause?

Am 63-year old female; 120 lbs; active; exercise. 4-5 wks ago, I started getting a very sharp pain at the top of my leg (muscular?) when my foot would step any way other way than perfectly straight. After much walking this past week, the pain has gotten more severe -- like a sharp knife stab when I step down on my foot in a certain way. I'm in good health; eat right; etc. No other symptoms.

Hi and welcome to HCM
The pains that you have described are likely to be due to a muscular pain . Taking mild pain killers and muscle relaxants will bring a short term relief. Regular stretching exercise will be helpful.
you can do a hot fomentation and apply a local analgesic gel on the area to relieve the spasm.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and informative and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care.
