Sharp Pains In Lower Stomach, Back, Sore Head. What Is The Cure?
I came home from work on Monday as I couldn t stop being sick. I haven t been sick since however I haven t been able to eat, I ve been getting sharp pains in my lower stomach and just started getting pains in my back today also. I often get a sore head and it feels very hot however the rest of my body is normal temperature?
Hi and thanks for the query,
Sharp abdominal pains could have numerous causes. This pain shall be analyzed depending on the particular location, mode of onset, associated symptoms, aggravating and relieving factors. The medical history shall also be very important in the evaluation of this pain. An abdominal ultrasound might be needed in some cases, and coupled with a good clinical examination are a few blood exams should be sufficient to give a good diagnosis. This case could also be acute gastritis, gall bladder inflammation, appendicitis, functional colopathy or many other possibilities.
The headache evaluated shall depend on whether it is a primary or secondary headache and depending on specific symptoms, a clear cut diagnosis could be made.
I suggest you visit your internist first for a comprehensive physical examination and appropriate paraclinical examination. A gastroenterologist could actually be of much help.
Thanks and best regards,
Luchuo, MD.
