Hello
Thanks for your querry to hcm
1.Contrary to the popular belief, it is not the rust which cause
tetanus. Rather a soiled and
contaminated clean instrument can be responsible for the disease, as tetanus spores reside in
soil particularly nearer to hospital area or infectious disease ward or isolation ward.
2.If you don't have a cut, there is very less chance of development of tetanus.
Few things I want to ask you in addition.
Is the
caesarean section done was after a full term
pregnancy...I am asking because usually 2 doses of inj. TT is administered during a full term pregnancy within an interval of 4 weeks in the second trimester.
Nothing to worry, if you have taken both the doses.
In addition to that, if you have again taken TDap at the time of delivery, further reduces the chances of tetanus. (The recommended
vaccine is Td in adults as
pertussis component is in fact not required).
How ever, in your case there seems to be hardly anything to get worried, if you taken all those injections I have described above.
God bless you.
