Short Term Memory Loss. Had Stroke Last Year, Made Full Recovery. Treatment?

I had a stroke last year 7/28/12. I made a "full" recovery so they say. I have been back to work full time since 11/20/12. My issue/question is I have no short term memory. You can tell me something and 5 seconds later I don't remember it. While this proves convenvient with my wife, it is very frustrating at work. I can not perform my job. Is there any hope to cure this? What can I do? One of the nuses in the hospital made the comment that I would never be able to multi-task again. In my job that is all I do. Is there any help?

Hi,

The reason for patients with short term memory loss varies from person to person. There are treatment options available such as medications, cognitive therapy etc but results vary from person to person. You should discuss with your doctor for best and convenient options for you. It is not true that you cannot multi task again as its quite possible that with practice you might be able to recover and do that again.

Hope this helps.
