Vitamin B12 deficiency is very commonly seen in vegetarian population as vitamin b12 is nearly absent in vegetable, fruits etc. Milk is also poor source of vitamin b12. Meat, Fish And eggs are very reach source of vit. b12. If you are non vegetarian i will advice you to take meat, fish etc. and If you are vegetarian then you can very well take the injections of vit. b12 i.e Cyanocobalamin (1000 mcg intramuscularly) on alternate day for 10 adys along with folic acid supplements which will also help in decreasing CNS related problems (mood changes, cramps etc). After injection i will advice you to do reiculocyte count as well as vitamin b12 level to see whether there is improvement or not.
Feel free to ask if you have any other query
