Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Should Chelation Be Done After Removing The Mercury Fillings From The Body?
I recently had 10 mercury fillings removed after having a mercury blood test that showed high level of mercury. Should I have chelation done? I am concerned that my body is retaining high levels still, especially after the removal of the mercury fillings I live in Santa Fe NM,
I'd suggest to first remove the mercury fillings and do not use fish that might have high mercury levels (such as those raised in sludge).
Next, work with your local public health authorities and get your tap/drinking water examined for levels of pollution (including mercury, lead, and others). Water is another source of having high mercury levels.
If after such measures, the levels of mercury will stay still high, then, should consult with a toxicologist to start appropriate chelation therapy.
Hope it was of help! Dr.Bardha
