Should I Admit My Mother To Hospital?

My mom had a quadruple bypass a little over a year ago, and just had tests done to see if she could have hip surgery , The Dr. called today and said that she couldn t have it done because her left ventricle is only working at 26%. Now if that was the case wouldn t she be in the hospital? Im just concerned because I live two hours away. She said if she had surgery that he told her she wouldn t wake up....

Hello
Welcome to HCM. Thanks for posting your query.
I understand your concerns about your mother.

As your mother is aged and already had a bypass surgery, it's very difficult for her to tolerate the surgery.

Anaesthesia and surgery both are stressful conditions. As her heart is functioning only 26%,it cannot tolerate the brunt of anaesthesia and the surgery.

So your doctor has rightly said that your mom cannot tolerate the surgery.

Hope this helps you.
Thank you
