Should I Be Concerned About Tiredness And Jaundiced Appearance Of Skin After Suffering Prior Heart Attacks?

My mother who is 92 suffered 2 heart attacks a year ago. She has a couple of follow hospitalisations which involved iron infusions. She is doing well and fully capable of getting around and that includes normal activities doing light housework, washing, cooking etc. I noticed today she looked a little tired however her skin has a slight jaundiced appearance. Should I be concerned?

Dear sir

It is possible to get portal hypertension after episodes of heart attacks. Portal hypertension often cause decreased liver function which causes rise in bilirubin levels which inturn causes jaundice like symptoms

It is impossible to detect portal hypertension without further investigations. So it is recommended to undergo
1. Ultrasound abdomen
2. Chest x ray pa view

Some times portal hypertension is accompanied by congestive cardiac failure with cardiomegal so look for the signs

Thanks
