Should I Be Concerned For Endometrium Thickness Of 18.5mm After Medical Abortion?
Hi ive had a medicated abortion 8 days back, went for a sonography yesterday the doc said there was no embryo but my endometrium is still thick 18.5mm.. my bleeding has stopped..will it go away on its own or will i need a D&C. also after taking the pills i even experienced rectal bleeding is it normal? KINDLY REPLY, thankyou.
I am so sorry to hear about this thickened endometrium. Shortly after and abortion, it may be normal. However, only a control ultrasound down the road would be able to tell whether it is completely resolved or not. There is no need to go for a D&C for this right now. Please, talk to your doctor about contraception so that you can choice a reliable method to avoid all unwanted pregnancies. Also, always consider using a condom during intercourse to help prevent STDs.
I hope this addresses your query fully. Thank you so much for patronizing our services and please do feel free to ask for follow up clarifications and information if need be. I wish you the best of health. Dr. Ditah, MD.
