Should I Be Concerned For My Son's Kidney Ultrasound Reports?
Gud morning sir! my son did an ulstrasound of kidney nd pelvis the result is right kidney is normal in site nd echogenicity with minimal fullness of pelvicalyceal system, no stone. left kidney is normal in site, size and echogenicity with no hydronephrosis. filling volume is 27 ml. should i be worried? does he need any special diet? by the way he is two years and 9 mos. thank you!
There is no need to get worried as kidneys are normal in appearance and there is no obstruction to flow of urine. A urinary bladder volume of 27 cc is acceptable as children at that age cannot hold much urine. You may make him drink adequate amounts of water and fluids to avoid dehydration. He can continue with a normal diet suitable for age.
