Should I Be Worried For My Wife's Liver Test Readings During Pregnancy?
my wife is in 37th week of pregnancy her SGOT is72.42 SGPT is 64.73 S.ALKALINE PPHOSPHATE IS 543.94 and total protein is 5.63 s.albumin is 3.14 and s.bilirubin is (total) is 1.28 she is currently on amoxillin 500 for chest infection she has haemoglobin value of 7.5 gms. is anything serious
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your clinical history and query, my opinion is as follows: 1. Alkaline phosphatase is highly elevated. But bilirubin levels in near normal. At present, nothing to worry. 2. Possibly due to compression of bile duct by the growing uterus. 3. Continue treatment. Hemoglobin improvement is required with supplements and if required, transfusion during delivery. Nothing serious at present.
Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
