Should I Continue Taking Praziquantel After Having Large Intestine Removed As It's Side Effect?

I have been perscribed praziquantel as a follow up treatment to an unidentified worm which resulted in a quarter of my large intestine being removed. How long does it take to work, what are the expected side effects and how long will it last? I have to take one dose of 900mg followed by a second dose 12 hours later

Hi,
Welcome to healthcare Magic!
Praziquantel is a antihelminthic antiparasite drug that clears worms from gut and body tissues.
There are many regimens which depend on the type of worm and the severity of involvement, hence your clinician remains the best judge to decide the duration of treatment.
You should contact the clinician and tune up the treatment regimen.
I hope the advise would be informative and useful for you.
Take Care!
