Should I Get Coronary Angiography And Thallium Scan Done After Being Diagnosed With LAD Calcific Moderate Disease?
I am 46 years.I do daily an hour walk.My lipids were high for the last 10 years but between different intervals I used to get medicine to bring these in range and then left .very occassionally the BP rises. Now a month back I observed that BP was regularly rising so I consulted Dr and started medication for BP and statin as well in addition to Aspirin. I went to a cardiologist My ETT some say is false positive and some say is negative then I went for CT Angiography. Its results are LAD calcific moderate disease in mid course, major diagonal has critical disease,LCX major OM has critical disease.Trifurcation has osteal critical disease.all other are unobstructive. Some Dr advised me Cornory angiography,One Thalium Scan and One to do nothing and keep on taking medicines.I think I do not have angina pain. What should I do
Thanks for the query. If you are not having any symptoms, then you should be on maximal medical therapy, and maximum lifestyle modifications to prevent carduac events. If you develop symptoms on medical therapy, then an angiogram would be the next step.
Hope this helps, wish you the best,
