Should I Go To The ER Having Pain In The Chest For Which Nitro Has Not Helped And Has A History Of Mitral Valve Prolapse?

I'm a 34 year old female. I have Mitral Valve Prolapse nd Tacachardia. I'm on metoprolol to help with this. I get chest pains and my cardiologist gave me nitro pills to help. I'm away from home at a conference and I'm having worse than usual pain. It's on the left side. It's a squeezing pain with some sharp. I took my nitro but it only helped a little. It's the first time I have considered going to the ER but I don't want to go unless I really need to.

Hi.If you have a squeezing pain, heaviness of the chest, increasing with activity then its advisable to go to an ER without further delay.Hope this answers your question. It's always better to rule out a chest pain due to non cardiac origin.
