Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My dad has last stages of chf and has copd, diabetes and 71 yrs old. He has been in the hospital 3 time in 4 months currently now in icu for fluid build up and had a Tia. Is it time for hospis. He has a dnr. This has been so hard to see him struggle for air.
Hi, It is a very difficult situation as your father is suffering but ethically speaking everybody has a right to live. He is still able to manage himself with support and I would ask you to continue the Same. Difficult to advise, but let the treating doctor and your father decide. I could not contribute much. But this is what I tell my patients. Any further queries, do ask again.
