Should I Take Cymbalta Along With Topomax For Headache, RA, And Autoimmune Issues?
I am currently taking 125 mg topomax. They wanted me to go to 150 but I said no. They want to add cymbalta . Starting at 20 and getting to 60. I m reluctant . They will let me drop topomax to 100 if headaches go away. I am not a drug taker. I m also on 10 mg Ritalin 2x a day. I have RA and many other auto immune issues ( Drs say lupus, MS possible etc..) and chronic pain . Am I being too stubborn refusing to take meds? I manage. I walk without an aide..just limp some days. Most people can t tell I hurt. I m 53...almost 54. Have had all of this most of my life and am still managing. Age is catching up to me for sure, but I can t see becoming a pill popper.
The final decision to take any medication depends entirely on you.
If you feel that you are currently managing without any medication changes then you can consider continuing at your present doses.
You would need to balance any risks associated with the medication with the possible benefits. It would be best to discuss any issues you have with additional therapy with your doctor.
I hope this helps
