Should Valium Be Taken Along With Clonazepam For Panic Disorder?
I am currently taking 0.5mg of clonazapam morning and night but was prescribed Valium yesterday. Should I take the Valium at night with the cloranzapam or not. I suffer from a panic disorder and am also on a srni (3weeks) and olanzapine for a stabilizer
Hi & Welcome to HCM. I can understand your concern.
Short acting benzodiazepines like Clonazepam & Lorazepamare are often used to provide short-term relieve of panic symptoms. Since Diazepam is also a benzodiazepine 9but longer duration of action) so, if taken along with Clonazepam it can cause increase sedation and drowsiness. Hence, Diazepam can be taken at bed time but without Clonazepam. Hope you will consult your treating physician regarding the dosage and the timing of taking these medications along with SNRIs and Olanzapine. Best wishes.
