Should A 3 Year Old Be Taken To A Dentist For Dental Problems?

My daughter is 3, is she old enough to be seen by a dentist? I brush her teeth everyday and I noticed this on her teeth a few days ago and have been worried ever since. Does it look like cavities? Or just staining? I just dont see how she could have that many cavities seeing as how I brush everyday :(

Hi. Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
I read your query. Yes, this is absolutely the right time for your daughter's first dental visit. Since she must have completed her primary dentition by now. Primary teeth are more prone to cavities due to deep pits and fissures and child's eating habits.
You can just visit for a normal check up. If there is any discolouration or cavity, an x-ray of tooth can be done and further treatment if required.
Healthy primary teeth are foundation for good permanent teeth.
Oral prophylaxis, fluoride application, dental health education of child and parents are important at this age.
Teach her habit of rinsing after eating anything. Brushing twice daily. And regular oral check up every 6 months. Thats all!
Hope the answer helps you. Thank you!
