Should Am Man Of 53 Yrs Of Age Be Worried About Vtac?

Hi I am a 53 year old male. 6"1' 245 lbs. I recently had to wear a holter monitor as a precaution to an episode of pounding fast heart rate while mowing my lawn. The test revealed vtac. My doctor wants me to see a cardiologist for follow up. Should I be worried?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Dear patient,

Thanks for the query. Yes. V-Tach is a dangerous rhythm of the heart that can put you down with sudden cardiac death; the cause has to be pursued, and medications started to prevent events. You do need to see a cardiologist as soon as possible. This can be certainly related to blockages of the arteries of the heart.

Hope that helps, wish you the best,
