Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... I have a high Hemoglobin count of 16.6 according to my last CBC. It isn t always this high and varies between 14.7 to 15.7. The doctor says I should take 325mg aspirin, but when I do it hurts my stomach. What is a lower dose of aspirin I can take to not hurt my stomach, but yet help me with my high Hemo count? I was checked for Polycythemia, but the test came back inconclusive. Thanks, Terri
Greetings Sir. Regarding your Haemoglobin level, it's quite normal as a value of it can go even till 18. But anything greater than 20 is abnormal. Then as for as Aspirin dosage , follow as per your doctor instruction. Then for stomach hurt/irritation , it's advisable to inform your doctor regarding this who will prescribe you an antacid medicine that will help you overcome the problem and get relieved. You can also ask your doctor to prescribe lower dosage of Aspirin who may change that if necessary. Hope my guidance was useful to you.
