Should Contraceptive Pills Be Taken On The First Of Periods?
Hi doctor. I would like to ask about anticonception. I have 7 days break now for my period. But today i supposed to take first pill after the break. But i will have new pills just on monday. What should i do? Should i take first pill on monday so that means 10th day or should i wait one month and start again after another period?
Ideal menstrual cycle is around 4 days and hence starting of contraceptive pill is usually from the 5th day of menstrual cycle. As there is 10th day at present, I would recommend to use another form of contraception as condom or else and start pills from next menstrual cycle.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
