Should I Be Concerned About An Endometrial Thickness Of 16 Mm Found Through An Ultrasound?
Hi, I recently had an ultrasound as my specialist suspected I was miscarrying at 7 weeks 5 days. The night before the ultrasound I started bleeding and cramping horribly. The results have come back positive or miscarriage but they highlighted that my endometrium thickness was 16mm and now my specialist has requested to see me ASAP. Is this something I should be concerned about??
Hello and welcome to HCM, I am Dr Nilajkumar a consultant gynecologist and I will be helping you in your queries. There is no need for concern. A thick endometrium indicates that there are some retained bits inside after the abortion. So they will need to be removed as they may cause excessive bleeding or get infected.
So please see your gynecologist and she will help you further.
Hope this was helpful. Feel free to ask any further queries and I will be happy to help. Thanks for using HCM. Have a good day. Dr Nilajkumar Bagde Consultant Obstetrics and Gynecology
