Should I Be Concerned About Surgery Operated To Correct Anomalous Pulmonary Veins?
I am having open heart surgery at 66 to repair an anomoulous pulmonary venus return going into the right heart. Two veins became one big one and too much blood is shunting into the right side of the heart. We just found this accidentally via a Cat scan of the calcium in my heart. While I have faith in the experts at Penn to fix this through open heart surgery, I have fears that the bypass machines will falter during the operation. I have post traumatic issues from 2007 when hospital staff denied my mother was dying when indeed she w as bleeding to death and did code after 3 hours of complaining to only the residents because it was a holiday weekend. Intectellectually I know my hospital is one of the best but I can't get out of my mind what could go wrong. so basically I am asking about the machine and profusionist.
Men and machines are so advanced and sophisticated nowadays – no need to worry at all And the nature of operation too is not that complicated… Relax / you will be alright
Take care God bless
