Should I Be Concerned About The Fistula In The Nose Of Child?
My son is 2 and a half years old and doctor said that he has got fistula in his nose and has to be operated....is there something to worry and what do you mean by fistula and is it a major operation ....which age is correct to get fistula operated ....thanx
Hi, a fistula in a 2.5 years child nose will be a oro nasal fistula (palatal fistula) and these usually are congenital. Some other palatal anomalies can be associated with this and thus a complete ENT examination is must. Surgical repair is the treatment of choice and a palatal flap or tongue flap are required for closure. Regards
